A Historians Coast

Beginning in 1996, historian David Cecelski published a popular series of short essays called A Historian`s Coast for COASTWATCH, the magazine produced by the North Carolina Sea Grant Program. Blending the cuttingedge history, ecology, and a homegrown curiosity about the coastal past, nineteen of these essays, along with several unpublished pieces, are collected in A HISTORIAN`S COAST. Each of these essays examines a different aspect of North Carolina`s coastal history. Most center around rare travel journals, long forgotten books, lost diaries, other little known documentary accounts. In an efforts to make the musty archives come alive, Cecelski explores coastal wild places to see what the original inspiration for the source is like today. Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005.
